During the month of April local business owners, community groups, and faith groups are invited to help raise funds and awareness through the CAC’s “Coins for Kids” Campaign. The goal is to raise funds through the collection of small change and to provide education on the statistics and warning signs of child abuse. Along with the canisters will be a small Pinwheel Garden display, the pinwheel is used as the symbol of Pinwheels for Prevention National Campaign. Each pinwheel signifies the great childhoods all children deserve. Since the start of the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign, pinwheel “gardens” have sprouted up all over the state during April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month to heighten awareness that all children deserve an environment in which they can thrive.
Be on the lookout for our blue canisters and pinwheel gardens in your local businesses, churches and community centers throughout the month of April and help us by throwing in any of your loose or extra change!
